It looks like the Utah jazz is still working on Ace Bailey on no. 5 According to Jake Fischer in The latest Stein Line.

From Fischer:

Lottery teams that choose under Utah do not exclude the jazz to choose Bailey fifth. It does not appear that the jazz is an infallible phenoma to target after the team with the worst record of the league this season (17-65) has fallen as far as in the Lotto. An upside -down venture on Bailey, in theory, can certainly appeal to the jazz and their new president of basketball operations, Austin Ainge.

Everything seems to be Millhouse for the Utah Jazz. They had a gut on the Lotto night, but they seem to be able to get Ace Bailey, regardless. How nice is it to have the 5th choice and make the decision? Now Charlotte Bailey can select on #4 if the Sixers Choose VJ Edgecombe on #3, and it makes Utah more decisions, but they will choose the next level players, including Tre Johnson, Knepick, Khaman Maluach and Jeremiah. Fischer spoke of Knoop and Maluach and had insights into their workouts. But he also mentions the Utah jazz as potential concept dumps. Collin Sexton and John Collins, plus the #21 choice, appear to be something that can get some movement.

From Fischer:

The jazz also holds the number 21 choice, veterans such as Collin Sexton and John Collins who are considered potential trading candidates and future draft capital to try to obtain an extra lottery after being theoretically used on Bailey. Yet it was only two days ago that we first reported here that Duke Big Man Khaman Maluach on no. 5 If a potential concept tea for the jazz emerged after previous workouts with the wizards, Pelicans and Hawks. I also heard that the Duke guard, could have left his Utah visit earlier this week, with the jazz, also a strong opinion on Flagg’s other teammate who judged the lottery.

We do know that the #9 Pick is a possibility. Would the Raptors in Collins, Sexton and the #21 interested in #9? For me, I would very much like to come for the jazz and choose Collin Murray-Boyles, a Draymond Green Prototype, which could start a defense culture for a team that had the worst defense over the past two seasons.

We also got a little Intel that Jeremiah Fears came in for a second workout. It comes from Scoop B, of which I am not entirely sure, but we will post it here with a grain of salt.

We also got some insight from Tony Jones on the Locked on Jazz podcast that Khaman Maluach had a wonderful workout with the jazz, and hit many shots. It is a wonderful listening and one jazz fans should pay attention to as locked as Tony. He also mentions in the Podcast if Tre Johnson is on the board with Ace Bailey, the jazz would choose Tre Johnson.

Personally, I liked Tre Johnson’s game, and his light shooting with an unlimited series can be an excellent player to start building for Utah. I also think if Utah could somehow get Khaman Maluach as the two-way center that has all these championship teams, it could be great for the future of Utah. Protecting the edge on one side while locating the floor on the other is a game changer for any team.

Things are warming up, and I, for one, can’t wait to see who’s going to play in the Utah Jazz Summer League.
