At least four people have been killed in a Russian missile and Russian drone attack in the Ukraine capital Kyiv, the interior minister says.
In a post on social media, Ihor Klymenko says residential areas, hospitals and sports infrastructure were hit.
“An entire part of a high residential building was destroyed” in the worst shevchenkivskyi circle, he says, adding that some people are trapped under the ruins.
In the Kyiv region, one woman was killed and two other people were injured in Russian air attack, says the regional head Mykola Kalashnyk.
The Russian army has not commented on this issue.
Ukrainian Emergency Service DSNS says 13 people – including two children and a pregnant woman – were injured in Kyiv.
She posted footage showing that the shocked residents left a destroyed high -rail building that was still burning.
A number of flames are reported throughout the capital.
An entry into one of the city’s underground subway stations was damaged in the Russian attack, local officials say.
Many Kyiv residents spent the night sheltered at such stations.
In recent weeks, Russia has carried out massive air strikes in Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full -scale occupation of Ukraine in February 2022.
