The guys ‘forgive the interruption’ has some thoughts on ex-Rutgers star Ace Bailey‘s latest decision on NBA concept -workouts.
“Missional,” says Frank Isola of ESPN.
“Stupid,” added his colleague Michael Wilbon.
Apparently referring to Bailey’s agent Omar Cooper, Wilbon added: “Someone has to reject it in that camp now.”
Their comments come to the wake of the Decided by Bailey and his camp to skip the weekend’s meeting and private workout with the Philadelphia 76ersconfirmed by a league source to NJ Advance Media.
The Sixers bought plane tickets and set the trip before Bailey’s camp canceled it on Wednesday night.
“His camp considers him a top-3 player,” Isola said. “Well, the sixers have the third choice, so why would you not want to meet with them?”
“And then you hear that he sees a clear road to star, and when he goes to a team like the wizards, he sees an easier path. Mike, …. what is an easy to be a star in the NBA? You are somewhat deceived. ‘
Isola added that if Bailey landed with the sixers, they were “well coached by Nick Nurse” and “you might play in important games from the beginning, so I think his approach to this is not the right way to do it.”
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony recently Bailey from number 3 on his ridiculous concept to no. 6 because of his “confusing “strategy To schedule no workouts with NBA teams so far.
Givony elaborates on his thought process during an appearance this week on the Dunc’d on podcast.
“He scares people because they don’t want to set him up, and also because they are worried if they don’t set him up, he’s going to become a star and make them look very stupid,” He said.
From Bailey’s decision to skip the Sixers workout, Wilbon said, ‘I’m going to mention what it is, it’s stupid. He and his advisers. I saw what was leaked over stars. What it is is just egomania. I hope that it is the people above him who advise him stupidly … and not for him.
“And I hope he can separate himself from such stupid advice, that he comes in and that he is more concerned about his own star than becoming a good and then an excellent player and contributing to a team.
“Philadelphia is a team he can help turn things around, he can be part of something … In the benefits I do not want the child to be nowhere near me until he can change his attitude, or he can look at the dopes that advise him, say that I do not have to be part of it … The hell out now. ‘
He added, “Someone has to reject it in that camp now.”
