New Delhi (AP) – tens of thousands of people across India extended to public parks and sandy beaches on Saturday to mark the 11th day of yoga.

Yoga’s massive sessions were held in many Indian states, where crowds tried with different poses and practiced breathing exercises. The Indian military personnel also completed Yoga at Glacier Siachen’s icy heights in the Himalayas and on maritime ships anchored in the Bay of Bengal.

Similar sessions were also held in countries including Malaysia and Indonesia.

“I think yoga keeps us spiritually, mentally capable and helps us to manage stress. That is why I think people should take at least 30 minutes every day for yoga to keep themselves capable,” said Rajiv Ranjan, who participated in an event in the Indian capital of New Delhi.

In Malaysia, more than a thousand people, from the enthusiasts of Yoga to the first time, appeared for a session in Batu caves, a popular tourist attraction and the Hindu festivals on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. People of all ages, including children, practiced with a giant golden statues of a Hindu Lord and the rainbow steps leading to the Temple Cave.

The event was organized by the Indian High Commission in Malaysia.

“It has been really good and relaxing for the body and spirit of the mind,” Lee Ann said.

Tourists, students and enthusiasts of Yoga also rolled their colorful yoga mattresses in the sunset in a park near Nusa Dua Beach on the tourist island of Indonesia, who is home to more than 4 million people who are mostly Hindu in the country mainly of the Muslim archipelago.

The event was organized by a government tourism agency and the Indian Consulate in Bali.

“Yoga brings amazing benefits, especially to restore balance and calm a busy mind. This ancient tradition must be preserved because it has a positive impact on the wider society,” said Ayu Sangjiwani, participant.

Similar events were also held in the capital, Jakarta, and in the cities of Makassar and Yogyakarta.
