The UFC may only have a new broadcast rights transaction in September, but several networks are certainly interested in matters with the mixed martial articide promotion.
Ufc ceo Dana White tell Sports business journal Those discussions are still working on the right agreement and that negotiations can end soon or stretch until September before something is completed.
During the process, managers of the TKO group Holdings acknowledged that the new UFC broadcast rights can be divided between various outlets. It seems to be more likely to happen as discussions continue.
“Everything is going well – we are pleased with all the discussions we have,” White said about the broadcast agreement. “I don’t know – I don’t know yet, but yes, it’s probably (we end up with several partners).”
The nature of the split is unknown, although speculation was that the UFC could take out the promotion’s pay-per-viewing broadcasts as one potential package and then another for UFC Fight Night opportunities and other programming such as Dana White’s contender series and The ultimate fighter. Nothing has been decided yet, but there are reportedly that many outlets are working on the promotion.
A separate report of Puck State ESPN remains closest to approaching an agreement to hold at least part of the UFC’s broadcasting agreement after entering into a seven-year agreement with the promotion in 2018. The agreement expires at the end of 2025.
ESPN is currently maintaining rights across the UFC package, including pay-per-viewing broadcasts broadcast on ESPN+.
Puck reports at least three major outlets are interested in the UFC rights, including Netflix, who already does business with TKO through the WWE and now the upcoming Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence crawford Fight, with Amazon Prime and Warner Bros. Discovery also fighting for a potential agreement.
Netflix has long remained one of the leaders to land at least part of the UFC’s broadcasting package after the Streamer with WWE did business on a massive 10-year agreement of $ 5 billion for the rights Monday night raw.
The UFC is reportedly looking for about $ 1 billion a year for the new broadcast rights. For the time being, negotiations continue and it is possible that the UFC does not have an answer as to where the promotion in 2026 will go until the end of summer.
