George Kittle does not play defense, but Robert Saleh’s return to the 49ers still lets him be fired.

Saleh built a strong defense when he was the coordinator of the 2017-2020 team and transformed the success in a job as head coach of the Jets. Saleh was unable to reach the same heights in that role and was fired during the 2024 season, which left him available for a second time with the NFC West Club this year.

During an appearance on The rich Eisen show This week, Kittle shared a message for the rest of the league about what Saleh’s return to the team will mean.

‘Violence come to come is what I would say, ”Kittle said.

The stiff ending expanded on his thoughts on what Saleh brought to the table.

“He is very good at his job, and I am very excited that we somehow convinced him to be our defensive coordinator again,” Kittle said. “He knows what he’s talking about, he’s inspiring, he gets the boys erected, and he’s just really, really smart. So, I was pumped to have him back in the building, just a little hanging out with him, talking about things. You can only say that he is ready to roll this year, and he will shoot the boys. ‘

The 49ers chose defending players with their first five choices in the concept of this year and the new blood will be needed after a number of room on the side of the ball this outside season. If Saleh can form it in a similar unit as the one he built in his first 49ers run, a setback of last year’s disappointing season in Northern California could be in the maps.
