Prior to the 2025 WNBA season, the Phoenix Mercury Indiana Fever Cunningham acquired in a four-team trade. It didn’t take her long to win the fans in Indiana. Not only did she surpass one million followers on tiktok, but her fever -jersey is currently sold out online.

Cunningham earned a lot of respect from WNBA fans this past Tuesday when she again had a hard mistake at Caitlin Clark. During the last minute of the Fever-Sun match, she pulled July Sheldon on a quick break on the ground. She then came with Sheldon in a scramble that wasted in the crowd.

SUN head coach Rachid Meziane had a problem with Cunningham’s mistake on Sheldon, calling it a ‘stupid’ and ‘disrespectful’ game.

“If you win a game with 17 points and do this stupid mistake, it’s just respectful,” Meziane told reporters. “I don’t know how July and Lindsay (GOT) rejected the game when they did nothing.”

Cunningham is perhaps a public enemy no. 1 in Connecticut, but she is a fan of fan everywhere.

On Thursday night, a fever fan posted a photo of Cunningham on X, along with this heading “Our Bodyguard.”

In less than 24 hours, this photo of Cunningham looked more than five million times.

At this point, Cunningham cemented herself as the most popular player on the fever outside Caitlin Clark.

We will see if Cunningham can keep this hype train alive in Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Aces.

Cunningham is an average of 6.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for the fever. She was a good contributor to the Bank for Stephanie White’s group.
