The College Room (PA.) Prep Four Star Safety Joey O’Brien committed him to Notre Dame.
A top target for head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff chose O’Brien the Irish over his top schools in Clemson, Oregon and Penn State.
The 6-foot-4, 180 pounds O’Brien visited South Bend several times, including his official visit this weekend.
“Just to go the official visit with the people there, the whole place, how they develop you and that degree you get there, it has so much wealth to that extent,” O’Brien explained. “I feel like my parent myself (would be angry with me) if I didn’t take the chance to get to Notre Dame, because not everyone can.”
