San Francisco – The Red Sox has done another trade with an NL West Club.

Boston conveyed the relief of Zach Penrod to the Dodgers for cash considerations, sources said on Friday. The Red Sox appointed him for the command on Sunday to clean a grid in the wake of the Rafael Devers block.

Penrod, an unprepared free agent signed from the independent ball in August 2023, debuted in September last year and allowed two runs (one earned) in four innings over seven appearances (2.25 era). He was in spring training and had a chance to make the opening day timetablebut sustained an elbow injury and was closed. The injury, described as an elbow spray, did not need no surgery and Penrod threw in the early parts of the season again. He pitched in Worcester, where he allowed four earned runs and seven strokes in 6 ⅓ innings.

Penrod fell behind Boston’s in -depth card when the SOX signed Lefty Delights Aroldis Chapman and Justin Wilson to join Brennan Bernardino this season. The club also has Chris Murphy with the Woosox and in the 40-man mix. With Los Angeles, Penrod will have the opportunity to contribute to a play-off match, although he may be starting at Triple-A.
